Hatching Day.

Update 19 July - Day 2 of hatching.

We've now successfully hatched 18 of the 19 eggs in the incubator. They've been moved over to the brooder, it was getting a bit crowded in the incubator... here they are...

This is I think a really good hatch rate.

Just a quick post, photos will no doubt follow later.

Today is a good day.

The incubator (Brinsea Octagon 20 Advance) has been running since the 28th June with a batch of chicken eggs. Twenty to start with but quickly dropped to nineteen when one proved to not having been fertilised.

Eight hatched overnight, another two this morning so far - we've always had a good hatch rate, never quite 100% so let's see how many we get this batch.

Also this morning our 'missing' Muscovy duck has come home, she's been away for two nights which is a first they're normally very stay-at-home ducks.
